In last week’s post I shared about putting some homemade love into birthday parties. One cute and very simple way to do this is with birthday banners! The first one I am going to share with you is how to make a picture banner.
For supplies, all you need are some sort of twine or string, a hole punch and some photos.
Cut your string to the desired length taking into consideration how many pictures you will be using and how much space between each photo you would like. I would recommend about five or so inches between each photo as well as 8-10 inches of string at both ends for hanging. (A note to my fellow OCD’s: you can also take into account about half an inch of string per photo knot.)
To attach the photos, hole punch a corner of each photo (I did top left). Now simply thread your string through the first photo (leaving your 8-10 inch margin for hanging), tie a knot and your first picture is done! Now thread the longer side through your next photo (leaving your five inches of room from previous photo), tie a knot and repeat until all photos are tied in.
That’s it! When you’re finished, your banner will look like Henley’s birthday banner above. Super simple and a fun way to celebrate someone on their birthday!
Have you made a picture banner before? I’d love to read any DIY birthday decorating ideas you have!

Chrissy
