Prime Now

May 31, 2016

As we have been gearing up for baby number three, I have been actively trying to look for ways to simplify life around here. Lately I find myself wanting to be home more and in the car a lot less. Me no-like traffic. Lol! A couple of friends have been recommending Prime Now to me and I almost couldn’t believe my ears when I heard about it. What do you mean I order something and it’s at my door in two hours? It sounded almost too good to be true.

A couple weeks ago while I was washing dishes (more on that here), I noticed we were almost out of dish soap. It was a Sunday night and I was thinking how I didn’t want to enter the week unprepared or needing to go to the store (since I had just done all our grocery shopping Friday). And then it hit me, Prime Now! I had an awesome experience and so as one mama to another, I had to share it with you!

I was so excited, I downloaded the Prime Now app and starting finding my way around. Here are the basics of Prime Now:

What is Prime Now?

Prime Now is a service available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Through the Prime Now app you can purchase household and food items and have them delivered to you within hours. (There may be some remote locations that Prime Now is unavailable, so you may need to check if it’s available in your area).

How much does it cost?

There is a $15 minimum for items purchased and then you pay a $5 tip for the driver.

Since I mainly needed dish soap, I was under the $15 minimum and needed to add some other items. I checked around the house and saw we were in need of some other things including shampoo, trash bags and toothpaste. They were running a special (not sure if this applies every time) of $10 off your first Prime Now purchase. So I received all of my items for under $13 plus the $5 tip.

What did you like about Prime Now?

The convenience of it is my favorite part. Like I mentioned earlier, I am trying to simplify around here and knowing I don’t have to run to the store every time I need something is a huge deal to me (especially for when the baby comes!).

The app was extremely user friendly and it even has a GPS so you can see where your driver is at on their commute to your house.

I also liked that they gave me the option to leave the products at the door instead of needing to open the door at all (can never be too safe!). You can even leave a note with instructions for the driver such as “Please knock” or “Please don’t knock” depending on what your preference is in the app.

What did you dislike about Prime Now?

Honestly, I have no complaints. They kept my up to date on my order via text and delivered it in less than 2 hours from when I placed my order. That’s pretty awesome!

I had a great experience with it and wanted to share about it for those that are curious and want to give it a shot. Do you use Prime Now?

Xo,

Chrissy
