Easy Pennant Banner

May 4, 2015

Happy Monday Friends! I hope you had a great weekend :) This weekend we mostly played catch up on house work but it was nice. We also have been working on revamping an old cabinet for our family room and it’s about finished! I can’t wait to show it to you soon. Well, I am excited about today’s post because I’m going to show you how to make a super easy pennant banner. Don’t you just love pennant banners?! They are so cute and can be made in a variety of different ways. Let’s get started.

Easy Pennant Banner

You will need construction paper (one page per every 4 pennants), scissors, tape and string.
Pennant BannerFold your construction paper in half vertically. Then cut your folded construction paper three times to create four rectangles.Pennant BannerBefore cutting, sometimes it helps to place a dot at the end opposite the folded end first. This can help guide you as you cut and keeps each side even. Cut both sides diagonally to create your pennant shape.Pennant BannerOnce your pennants are cut, it’s time to assemble your banner. Cut string to desired length, leaving room at each end to hang the banner. Place pennants on the string. Create loops (the scientific term for them ;) with your tape and place them at the center inside of each pennant. Pennant BannerClose each pennant and you have a pennant banner my friend! Once this banner was finished, I used a gold sharpie and put hearts on each one just to add a little something extra. As you can see, these banners are nothing fancy but can add some “homemade love” to any space or party :)Pennant Banner

When it was all done I hung it on one of our kitchen shelves. I found that little caffeine sign on our vacation a couple weeks ago, isn’t it fun?! And the recipe box is Rifle Paper Co. and I got it at Anthropologie (more on Rifle Paper Co. here)

I hope you enjoyed this easy pennant tutorial! What’s your favorite decoration to make?

Xo,

Chrissy
